The Procurement Manager, Solar & BESS role is responsible for implementing procurement and contracting procedures for Solar and Energy Storage Capital Equipment categories in support of RWE Clean Energy' N.A. renewables business.
Responsibilities:
- Solar & Energy Storage procurement management - implement and proactively manage equipment categories through pre- and post-contract management items
- Ensure interfaces with internal stakeholders (Development, Engineering, etc) to optimize efficiency and streamline pre- and post-contract management items
- Develop and build upon Procurement strategy skills for tendering, evaluating, negotiating and contracting Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage equipment
- Drive value by implementing and follow-through of procurement processes
- Work closely with the Development, Engineering and Construction teams to execute various procurement options for projects and assure Supply Chain activities are performed consistent with established schedules and budgets
- Develop and maintain contacts and relationships with major equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and major contractors providing services to the renewable energy industry
- Drive Supplier Relationship Management and Evaluation. Implement contractor performance and risk measures
- Ensure that policies, compliance rules and processes are properly implemented and observed

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree, Business-related background preferred
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in procurement/contracting with experience or knowledge of the renewable energy business with primary focus on energy storage and solar PV
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Knowledge of the procurement process and experience in negotiating equipment contracts
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and respond quickly to changes in the build program based on Development/Construction needs
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $102,000 - $152,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
