The Project Manager will have two main responsibilities split across standing up technical capabilities for services provided by the continental European reneweables business of RWE including delivery as well as actively driving and contribuiting to the creation of RWE Clean Energy's IT/OT strategy. The Project Manager will work closely with senior management, stakeholders and project managers to ensure that the execution of stated responsibilities are clear, feasible, and aligned with the business needs. The applicant must have a proven track record in delivering large scale strategic tech projects in the renewable energy sector as well as a demonstrated ability to define operating strategies within an IT/OT organization. The candidate needs to display the ability to perform tasks independently and/or with minimum guidance, and to take a leadership role in project management to ensure activities are completed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership of the OPEA Application workstream, ensuring that services currently provided by OPEA are either transferred to RWE CE or terminated by Dec 31, 2025
  • Development and Delivery of Strategy / Architecture of site onboarding and reporting capabilities, including the OPEA Application Migration and other measures required to assist in establishing the future operating model of the RWE CE Business Applications team
  • Planning and leading workshops with key stakeholders including business, OPEA, and IT/OT stakeholders (< 10% travel expected)
  • Ramp up and take over the role as the stand up lead as part of RWE Clean Energy's IT/OT group-wide integration project
  • Ramp up and lead management office with OPEA counterpart to ensure RACI SLAs are met, providing updates to integrated project plan and any OPEA resourcing implications, and influencing workstream owners
  • Management of activities, continuous improvement measures at RWECE IT/OT
  • Collaborate with IT/OT senior leadership to develop and implement RWE Clean Energy's tech strategy that aligns with the organization's future goals and enhance overall technological capabilities
  • Partner with business representatives to understand, define and achieve system goals, enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Develop documents, presentations & dashboards to effectively communicate requirements and project status to relevant stakeholders
  • Introduce agile ways of working as appropriate in alignment with IT strategy and project requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is a plus
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT and technology in growing responsibility
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager, or similar roles
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to learn new technologies as required for the job using documentation and other available sources
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer and service provider relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Ability to manage complex projects including but not limited to prioritization of critical path, escalation of risks and issues, management of stakeholders, and problem-solving with workstreams
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams (ERD), cross functional diagrams, user stories, wireframes, Agile, Scrum, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN), etc.
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds at all levels of the organization
  • Is a team player embracing the spirit of continuous improvement personally and within the team
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
  • Must be able to work with remote teams, both within the US and globally
  • Must also be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.
  • This position is expected to start as a full-time role on January 1, 2025. Throughout the year, evaluations will be made to reduce the expected working hours until the contract terminates on May 31, 2025
