The Value Stream Manager is responsible for Operations Management and oversight of a production factory in the Forest Consolidated Manufacturing Center. This role is responsible for the planning and performance of an assigned manufacturing team. Responsibilities include operations leadership throughout the IPDS program life cycle, developing schedule plans, resource loading, and management of factory performance metrics. Leads operations resources and functional resources including production engineering, test engineering, quality engineering, and production control to ensure production requirements are met. Works closely with Program Operations Managers on execution planning and risk management.

What You Will Do

  • The Value Stream Manager is responsible for leading the overall manufacturing operations for a large value stream within a product line platform. This position is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing execution including execution to a MRP schedule, achieving positive variance to HPU performance, managing work-in-process to avoid aging WIP, and personnel staffing and development.
  • As the lead of the value stream for the site operations team, the VSM is the primary interface for the Consolidated Manufacturing Center to the program organization team and cross-functional guidance. The VSM will make strategic decisions for the direction of the value stream related to manufacturing plans, including production planning and Cost Reduction Initiatives.
  • It is also imperative the VSM has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the production organization concerned with the assembly and processing operations, including a thorough understanding of manufacturing related policies/procedures and quality and customer requirements.
  • Periodic interface is required with both internal and external customers at EACs, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and customer visits/tours.
  • This role will be working 1st shift, with flexibility to work additional hours and occasional weekends.
  • This will be an onsite role in our Forest, MS location.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience.
  • Prior experience in operations, manufacturing and/or engineering experience
  • Experience in proposals and / or budget management.
  • Experience in a leading a team.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Production Control concepts including WIP management and TAKT
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools and concepts
  • Prior Aerospace Defense experience
  • Working experience with SAP based Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Certification in Program Management, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing

The salary range for this role is 86,000 USD - 180,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
