This position is for a T5 Technical Lead, working under minimal supervision, split between technical (70%) and administrative (30%) duties. Responsible for prioritizing workload and providing technical guidance and support to Technicians and Repair Operators. Responsible for performing testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex avionics electronics equipment in accordance with Collins Aerospace Workmanship and Quality Standards. technical problems and issues, determining technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommending actions to customers, customer service representatives, sales representatives or field staff for coordinated product solution. Provides training and overview of Service Center processes and expectations as needed.

This is a 1st shift position with the following work schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Engage with Operations Managers to understand work priorities. Assist with prioritizing workload and assign to Technicians and Repair Operators as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to Technicians and Repair Operators.
  • Assess status of Test Equipment within Section and communicate issues to Operations Manager.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during customer onsite visits.
  • Posses a working knowledge of standard test equipment, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc., including automated test equipment.
  • Set up and operate precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems. Maintain a basic understanding of advanced test equipment functions. Reprogram equipment and determines possible failures as needed.
  • Conduct a variety of functional tests to check operation and calibration of test stations, components, equipment and systems.
  • Analyze circuitry and physically verify wiring and operation of various electronic parts, units and systems components necessary to locate malfunction source during testing of components, equipment or systems.
  • Perform difficult electrical / mechanical repair operations consisting of disassembly and assembly of units. Determine requirements and install modifications as set forth by Service Bulletin or other authorized documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or in the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required.
  • Must have prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.

This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Prior experience troubleshooting to component-level.
  • Prior soldering experience in related environment.

The salary range for this role is 56,000 USD - 112,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
