The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) organization as a Sustainability Coordinator in the role of an Environmental Compliance Principal Specialist in Tucson, Arizona.

The Environmental Compliance discipline:
Oversees programs related to air, water, waste, hazardous materials transportation, environmental remediation, sustainability, and engineering practices.
Maintains EH&S Management System Conformance. Achieves and maintains consistency of EH&S record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy. Prepares and manages documentation relating to environmental compliance and sustainability policies in preparation for both internal and external audit. Provides proper documentation in preparation for permit applications and liaising with governmental bodies.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with strength in developing and operating environmental compliance programs, driving sustainability initiatives, and achieving continuous improvement. The candidate should also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to positively influence internal and external groups of colleagues including but not limited to engineers, project managers, maintenance technicians, factory line employees, management, etc.
What You Will Do
- Under the direction of the Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Manager, the Sustainability Coordinator's assigned duties include, but are not limited to:
- Solid waste management for all Raytheon Tucson locations to include internal customer service and oversight of solid waste and recycling contracts
- Oversight of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R) Programs
- Strategic planning and development of sustainability initiatives
- Implementation of sustainability Best Management Practice (BMP) initiatives
- Collection and reporting of solid waste, reuse, and recycling metrics data
- Collaboration across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of environmental compliance and sustainability program implementation
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with EH&S requirements
- Lead projects to enhance environmental compliance and sustainability programs
- Advise Facilities maintenance and project managers on environmental diligence and sustainability obligations throughout site operations and infrastructure changes/ construction
- Achieve and maintain EH&S record keeping and documentation consistent with organizational and regulatory policy to stay audit ready
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
- Provide support for other Environmental Compliance programs such as Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Air Quality
- Provide support for other Tucson EH&S programs such as Safety and Industrial Hygiene
- Serve as a technical resource to harmonize interpretation and application of pertinent federal, state, and local regulations as well as enterprise policies and standards
- Monitor, administer, evaluate, and coordinate company EH&S programs to ensure environmental compliance and alignment with sustainability goals
- May require occasional travel to support Enterprise and Raytheon initiatives
This position is an onsite role.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior
relevant experience. - Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active U.S. government issued Secret level or higher security clearance
- Training Certifications: CHMM, RCRA, DOT Hazmat, HAZWOPER, ISO 14001, EPA Method 9 Visible Emissions, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of federal, state, and local environmental regulations

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
