Surveillance & Tactical Radar Solutions (STaRS), a division of Raytheon's Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) strategic business unit, is seeking an Associate Director of Business Development to be an integral member of the Requirements & Capabilities team focused on domestic and international radar/sensor pursuits. This role is responsible for supporting and leading STaRS associated new business strategy, captures and follow on growth. This position supports numerous radar/sensor solutions meeting requirements that cover multiple domains.

The Associate Director will be responsible for interacting with all Raytheon business units and domestic and international customers (commercial and governmental) in support of developing / delivering mission solutions to address operational surveillance and reconnaissance needs. They will become an integral member of collaborative teams encompassing the full spectrum of the company's technical expertise working to develop cross company solutions for capability needs.
What You Will Do
- Navigate senior level customer environments and drive outcomes that benefit both the product line and our customer's service members
- Support all business elements of capture; opportunity investigation, identification and validation, competitive intelligence, price to win, and management of new business investment funds
- Blend into capture teams and strategic pursuits and present comprehensive capture strategies to senior leaders of the organization
- Communicate concepts, collaborate with peers and counterparts and develop relationships with industry and customer representatives
- Excel leading, or as a member of diverse peer led cross functional teams, in problem solving and developing actionable courses of action
- Think critically and bridge strategy to tasks to achieve desired objectives
- Develop strategy to grow international market share and meet capability needs of the customer
- Communicate customer requirements to Raytheon business unit team members
- Work closely with our customers, senior management, program managers, engineers, and technical staff to fully understand customer requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs
- Communicate to customers the capability provided by Raytheon radars/sensors to meet existing and emerging requirements
- Manage resources and prioritize efforts to maximize cost benefit in favor of the customer and Raytheon
- Establish and cultivate relationships with customers domestically and internationally to ensure company awareness of current and emerging requirements
- Conduct weekly on-site internal meetings with cross-functional capture teams
- Travel domestically and internationally to customer meetings and events up to 50%

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically Requires a University Degree in business, science or technology and minimum 12 years' experience in aviation business, operations, or sensor technology; or an Advanced Degree in business or technology and 10 years' experience
- 5+ years working in the aerospace and defense industry with existing relationships with corporate and governmental organizations associated with the Federal and DoD acquisition process
- 2+ years' experience with surveillance, terrain following and terrain avoidance radar technologies, Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) and reconnaissance and surveillance concepts of operations
- Experience developing customer relationships
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- 5+ years' experience in international business development, capture management, proposal development, contract negotiations, and industrial participation
- 12+ years operational experience in patrol and reconnaissance aircraft or as an operator of MSA and AESA radars
- Strong understanding of financial business models and contract vehicles
- In-depth knowledge of the defense acquisition system, including the acquisition process, JCIDS process, and PPBE process
- Highly knowledgeable of current DoD and international security policies, strategies, concepts, and priorities as well as budgeting and acquisition processes

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
