The Human Machine Interactions (HMI) team researches and develops computational models of human decision making and human computer interaction solutions for a variety of high impact real world problems in the aerospace, manufacturing, and defense industries.

We are looking for a 2025 summer intern to conduct research in Human Computer Interactions:
What You Will Do
- Design and implement Bayesian models to analyze human behavioral data from various sources including experiments, surveys, and real-world observations
- Algorithm development, software implementation and frameworks to infer underlying cognitive processes and decision-making strategies.
- Evaluate model performance and validate results using appropriate statistical methods
- Communicating research results in the form of presentations to internal and external stakeholders and presenting them as written publications.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Candidates must be currently pursuing a college degree in computer science/engineering, behavioral economics, or related field with a focus on artificial intelligence and human factors. Candidates must not graduate before August 2025. Please upload a copy of your academic transcripts with your application.
- At least one publication or presentation in top venues like CHI, AAAI, HFES, HCII.
- Prior coursework in probability and statistics and data structures
- 1+ years of coding experience in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks like Pytorch, Tensorflow

Location: This position is remote.
Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role:
Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
