As a Raytheon Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Strategist, your primary responsibility will be partnering with the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Strategy Lead in the development, revision, and communication of SBU strategy artifacts. You will collaborate directly with the leaders and other key stakeholders to evaluate growth opportunities, assess environment trends, and develop and build consensus around strategic initiatives to drive the SBU's success. By conducting thorough analyses and evaluations, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the SBU's competitive position, risk profile, and business outcomes.

As an SBU Strategist you will be assigned to one of Raytheon's five Strategic Business Units, which are described below and you will report to the SBU Strategy Lead, who is a member of the SBU Leadership Team.

Advanced Technology (AT)

As the growth engine for Raytheon, AT teams with the U.S. government to develop a robust pipeline of technology discriminators and game-changing systems from seabed to space. Key focus areas include hypersonics, counter-hypersonics, next-generation radars, sensor experimentation and EO / IR advancements.

Advanced Products & Solutions (APS)

A product focused merchant-supplier that leverages scale and technology commonality to offer price and capability diversification across the product portfolio. APS supplies the best-value fire control / surveillance / navigation radars, EW suites, EO / IR solutions, and sensing components/microelectronics to an array of platform OEMs, DoD / MoD services, and commercial customers. Through portfolio companies Blue Canyon Technologies and SEAKR Engineering, APS supplies leading-edge space-qualified satellite components, busses, and electronics to the commercial and defense sectors.

Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS)

Specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics and effectors. Provides customers with unmatched capabilities of detection and sensing, command and control, and air-to-air, air-to-surface, and surface-to-air munitions to accomplish air, space and missile defense missions. Key offerings include AMRAAM, StormBreaker, AN/TPY-2, space sensors and space mission control.

Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS)

Provides proven integrated air and missile defense capabilities, ranging from advanced sensors to precision weapons. With more than 50 international partners and less than 60% international sales, LADS is committed to delivering next-generation, cross-domain solutions to counter global evolutionary threats. Key offerings include the Patriot air defense system, next-gen LTAMDS / GhostEye radars, NASAMS air defense system, Javelin weapon system, Excalibur projectile, Stinger weapon system, and Coyote family of counter-UAS and loitering munition systems.

Naval Power (NP)

Specializes in sensors, command and control and precision weapon solutions to protect allied ships and sailors around the world. Key offerings include classified naval radars, Next Generation Jammer, naval shipboard missiles, including ESSM, RAM, SM-2, SM-3 and SM-6 missiles, naval air missiles, such as the AIM-9X SIDEWINDER missile and Tomahawk cruise missile, and naval systems, such as the SPY-6 radar.

This Onsite position will be in one of the following Raytheon locations: Woburn, MA; McKinney, TX; Tucson, AZ; Farmington, CT or Arlington, VA

Some travel may be required - domestic and international - to other RTX and target company sites.

What You Will Do

  • Lead analyses and present strategic recommendations related to these and other areas.
  • Business investments
  • Mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures
  • Customer trends
  • Discriminators and competitive position
  • Process and business structures
  • Collaborate across the strategy organization, your Strategic Business Unit (SBU), other SBUs, and other functions.
  • Participate in both SBU level and Raytheon level strategic projects.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Experience in corporate strategy or project management.
  • Experience in data analytics, data visualization, storytelling, and research (ex. sensitivity analysis, business case development, market assessments).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
  • Active / transferable Top Secret and SCI clearance.
  • Experience working in the defense industry.
  • Experience and / or knowledge of the U.S Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
  • Excellent communication skills working with expertise-diverse teams.
  • Experience working on a corporate strategy team or consulting firm or with strategic decision-making frameworks.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
