This role is part of a collaborative onsite team focusing on developing next generation aerospace technologies for leading industry engine and airframe manufacturers.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
May be eligible for relocation.
What You Will Do
- You will act as a software modeling and design subject matter expert that guides program adherence to our DO-178C and DO-331 compliant modeling processes.
- You will be a lead in establishing standardized modeling practices and processes for embedded aerospace software products
- You will utilize your MBSE expertise to automate development pipelines
- You will work directly with customers to engineer top of the line digital control products
- You will identify opportunities and make recommendations to reduce engineering costs through the application of model-based design
- You will prepare and present design reviews and coordinate critical software development activities across multiple organizations.
- You will create and refine software architectures for embedded control and diagnostic systems in the form of system models, specification models, and design models.
- You will design systems of software components that work cohesively to perform critical flight functions

- You will be able to develop your leadership skills by establishing a strategic vision for the adoption of model based software development within the Digital Controls organization, and work directly with our talented engineering team to drive results that help Collins in its never ending goal to redefine aerospace.

- Your work will be involved with the design, development, and verification of all products in our portfolio.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Model Based Design Required
- Experience with DO 178C Development and Certification Process
- Experience working with Embedded Systems requirements
- Experience with Aerospace Certification
- Experience Debugging systems with control and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience with SysML and Cameo is preferred
- Experience with MATLAB Simulink is preferred
- Prior experience with Aerospace software system design

Employee referral eligible
The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
