What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney's Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) organization is seeking a Nondestructive Evaluations (NDE) engineer for development and execution of nondestructive evaluations projects. Key customers include, but are not limited to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, airlines and PW Programs. The responsibilities include development of new applications for Pratt and Whitney components as well as participating in development of new NDE methods. The developed solutions shall meet customers' goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for development, validation and implementation of inspection application methods including eddy current, ultrasonic, thermal, FPI, X-Ray, visual (BSI) and other advanced inspection concepts.
  • Responsible for development and validation of new research and development techniques and methods
  • Address specific industrialization needs which depend on production and/or aftermarket environment
  • Acquire appropriate hardware/tools used for testing and application development
  • Meet program schedules and budgets goals

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • B.S. in Engineering or Material science is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
  • Ability to communicate with senior executive leadership both internally and externally
  • US person status is required
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Willingness to travel to engage with customers

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • NDE degree is preferred
  • Graduate degrees in Engineering are a plus
  • Security clearance is a plus
  • Demonstrated success in working across multi-functional organizations, and all levels of management
  • Exhibited clear and effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Confirmed effectiveness as a detail-oriented individual that possesses the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced, and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
