What You Will Do:

The Hot Section Engineering Support to Operations Team is looking for self-motivated engineers for challenging Project positions. As the project point of contact for either a commercial or military multi-discipline group, the position demands coordinated communication with and strengthened working relationships within HSE part families to ensure that component hardware deliveries are met. This role will also include direct interfacing opportunities with engineering management, program management, shop floor and suppliers. The project engineer will help develop task execution plans and oversee day to day activities for producibility improvement tasks, QN, SDO, and Class 2 Engineering Change activities that are crucial to the success of the organization. Suitable candidates will show a consistent ability to communicate effectively and make tough decisions using data driven methods.

  • Drive internal and external process or hardware producibility improvements to completion.
  • Drive team to meet control tower metrics and maintain actuals vs metrics.
  • Create deviation QNs and Class 2 Engineering Changes only after capability studies indicate requirements should be revised.
  • Manage and execute SDO and drop-in tasks per the direction of the PST Lead.
  • Maintain all budget and charge numbers.
  • Challenge our processes to become more efficient and more effective.
  • Develop and execute the outsource strategy to enable Reactive and Proactive work.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of engineering experience, OR
  • 3+ years of engineering experience with an advanced degree.
  • US Citizenship or US Person required due to program requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience or desire to lead projects.
  • Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
  • LEAN tool application experience would be a plus.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing shop environment.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
