Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Service Engineer for our NP2000 Repair Business under our Collins Aerospace Propeller Systems Service Engineering Department in Windsor Locks CT. This one of the most rapidly growing facilities across the company. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can identify issues and is able to drive action in the development, planning, and assisting in the implementation of timely and effective corrective actions for field issues involving engine control systems and products in both military and commercial arrangements. The SE is expected to help drive special investigations internally and with partners, gather field data, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action plans for implementation. The process includes data gathering (field reliability, operator use, and maintenance), analysis, coordinating special investigations, product testing, strong customer and Collins field service interface, and corrective action implementation

The individual will effectively engage all aspects of engineering departments, suppliers, Collins MRO, and USAF C-130H operators. The individual will work with technical publications for initiation, planning, and coordination of Service Bulletins, Service Information Letters, Action Items, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM). In addition, will assist the Customer Response Center (CRC) to address in service technical/AOG issues in an appropriately responsive manner for assigned aircraft systems and products.
What You Will Do:
- Respond to engineering and technical requests from USAF as designated in the contract.
- Acknowledge receipt of USAF engineering support request within 24 business hours and shall provide supplemental instructions or repair disposition within three (3) business days from acknowledgement of an urgent engineering and technical request, except in circumstances that are beyond reasonable control, for which, the SE will provide acknowledgement as soon as practicable.
- Record failure information from removals of fielded systems in failure summary reports.
- Prepare Failure Summary Report or Monthly Repair Status Report (MRSR) shall be provided in accordance with agreed to format. The report shall cover the previous monthly period and be sent on the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month
- Identify the most frequently failed line replaceable units (LRU) by part number throughout the period of performance. Failure Summary Reports/MRSR will include summary of repair data for agreed to LRUs as received by the contractor.
- Failure summary reports will include LRU Part Number, Failure Test Number, Induction Date, Major and Sub Assembly Component Name and Number, Failure Description and Repair Action and Status.
- Deliver Failure Summary Report/MRSR monthly and be presented at bi-annual Program Management Reviews (PMR).
- Develop internal shop findings metrics and visualizations
- Internal/External customer facing and support
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Experience working on military programs (Maintenance, publications, supervision, analysis, or engineering)
- Experience working with technical orders (T.O.) or Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Aerospace/Military Maintenance Manuals
- Ability to develop effective technical support solutions with strong ability to communicate at all levels (executive to technician)
- Ability to act as the "Voice of the Customer" for promoting positive change to our products and processes
- Experience in Preparation and presentation of functional issues and familiarization maintenance training
- SAP or ERP experience is a plus
- Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Office programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
