Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24/7 operations environment. Availability to work overtime, non-scheduled call-in working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the dynamic needs of the team. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's success. Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico

What You Will Do

  • Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems.
  • Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand.
  • Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.
  • Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies.
  • Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries.
  • Crosstrain in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team.
  • Work program level priorities to implement process improvements relevant to the mission supported.
  • Periodic travel required to interact personnel from various sites and factories.
  • Lead interactions and support all missions to include the initialization of new missions
  • Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in training and certification in operations.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

  • Windows and UNIX platform.
  • Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
