Senior Systems Engineer - Ejection & Propulsion (Onsite)

Job Description:

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for executing all Systems Engineering related activities for the projects they are assigned to in alignment with the business's current procedures and practices. This will involve working cross functionally with engineering, program management, operations, and other functional groups throughout all phases of projects. This individual may be the systems engineering focal for the entire life-cycle of the project/program as assigned by the business. In addition, this individual will work with the existing systems & test engineers and others to enhance current Systems Engineering practices, processes, and tools.

What You Will Do:

  • Utilize robust Systems Engineering practices in support of projects assigned.
  • Evaluate external and internal customer needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • In support of assigned projects; use agile tools (like Jira) to complete the planning, execution of assigned tasking for each sprint (increment).
  • Support the development and flow down of system requirements, ensuring that specifications sent to vendors conform to the system specifications.
  • Perform requirements decomposition form system level requirements to subsystem.
  • Perform requirements traceability at multiple levels of the system specification tree to ensure that any orphan and childless requirements are identified and resolved.
  • Performing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) functional and behavior to analyze and develop system-of-systems requirements via Enterprise Architect, including system system/component trade studies and analysis.
  • Complete requirements collection, including developing them and managing them, along with the creation of the Requirements Compliance Matrix and the Requirements Verification Matrix.
  • Support capture of project and product requirements in requirements database/ library (Jama).
  • Support requirements verification through review of Integration & Test Plans, Reports, and prepare qualification similarity reports as needed.
  • Participate in peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test requirements verification.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis utilizing Raytheon Technologies Best Practices.
  • Support other engineering and project execution activities, as requested. Assist in department development by contributing to systems engineering process development and cross team training.
  • The position requires strong interpersonal skills, high degree of comfort with ambiguity, good project discipline, excellent oral and written communication skills, high computer/technology proficiency, and the ability to work independently.
  • Interaction with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities is routinely required.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
