This Senior Engineer will provide supplier quality support for both manufacturing of engineered item and commodity materials supporting Mission Systems. Candidates should possess experience in Supplier Management with manufactured products, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Root Cause and Corrective Action, Continuous Improvement, Data Analysis, Specification Review, Inspection Methods, strong understanding of GD&T as well as Project Management including team facilitation. Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and an overall strong quality focus. They must be able to work within cross-functional teams including Program Management and Subcontracts Management to meet and improve upon program established quality and delivery goals.

What You Will Do

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) and leader of supplier performance management by analyzing performance data, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving actions on supplier development
  • Proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims
  • Leading cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals
  • Preventing/Minimizing business impact from supplied material defects; supplier quality risk mitigation
  • Submitting, reviewing, coaching, accepting supplier corrective action requests
  • Lead on-site supplier engagements, including performance reviews, process walks and Quality System audits
  • Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
  • Provide project management guidance and support to projects and processes
  • Exercise independent judgment methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Leadership within supplied material performance organizational strategies and development / enhancement of Supplier Quality standard work
  • Influence supplier selection
  • 25% Travel on average
  • This is a hybrid role. Applicants expected to be onsite 2-3 days per week.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with manufactured products incorporating chemical, electrical, electronic, and mechanical commodities
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9000, Quality Management System (QMS) standards
  • Supplier Management, Project Management and Change Management experience
  • Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes & related industry organizations (Nadcap)
  • Competence in conducting root cause analysis for moderate to complex nonconformities and implementation of effective corrective action
  • Experience with continuous improvement, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to influence others at all levels within an organization
  • Strong presentation skills - able to analyze and present data to all levels of leadership
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
