What You Will Do:

  • Leads a team of entry to intermediate level Quality Engineering professionals or a team or supervisors of Quality Engineering Technical / Business Support employees
  • Supports CORE and its initiatives
  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.
  • Works with designs and specifications, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product.
  • Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
  • Ensures that projects and process control documents are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  • Identifies and manages risk in product development (primarily utilizing and driving Production Part Approval Process (PAPP) core elements e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).
  • Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action(s).
  • Designs and implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.
  • Manages team of primarily entry and intermediate professionals or team leaders of Technical / Business Support or Production / Maintenance employees, with flexibility to determine how assignments are completed (e.g., objectives and approaches to completing work).
  • Sets day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
  • Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.
  • Explains policies, practices, and procedures.

PURPOSE:

  • Manages the execution of Quality Engineering objectives. Sets day-to-day objectives for the development, modification, application, and maintenance of quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols.

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS:

  • Supervises implementation of solutions to nonconformities and quality issues raised by customers.
  • Supervises the implementation and maintenance of test and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure the reliability and conformance of products and processes.
  • Supervises processes to identify and manage risk in product development, utilizing UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).
  • Supervises Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and develops proposals for corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes.
  • Ensures that process control documentation is compliance with requirements, objectives, and / or contracts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status)

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
