What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney, an RTX Company is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Real-Time Test Systems Software (RTSS) team. This individual will work closely with a team of software engineers in the delivery of developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within the RTSS Portfolio, as well as integrations with other Pratt & Whitney products. These software solutions will maintain functionality and enhance features for control and data acquisition software systems.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test Qt-based applications on the Linux platform.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to establish requirements, perform requirements analysis, and plan downstream system/performance testing requirements.
- Conduct design and implementation/code reviews with other team members.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Create required project documentation in support of project deliverables (including development plans, requirement and design specifications, and test documents).
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of software engineering experience required, OR, an advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Proficient knowledge using Qt, along with its various modules for application development.
- Proficient knowledge of C++, C, SQL, Perl, Bash.
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, system architecture, networking, and command-line tools.
- Experience with structural data analysis in aerospace/mechanical engineering applications.
- Experience with application development using networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RHOST, ARINC, etc.
- Experience with Linux-based device driver development and support.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney Engineering. To help shore up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt Engineering movement. We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt Engineering talent moves.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
