Raytheon's System Integration &test department is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer - Systems Integration HWIL/SIL Lead who will support Radar technology that includes leading, planning, and implementing product and system level test planning, integration, execution, and reporting including both HWIL/SIL at our Huntsville, AL location and CONUS site testing. This includes supporting flight and ground test hardware hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL)/software-in-the-loop (SIL) integration activities that involve modeling, simulation, data analysis, systems integration, task scheduling, configuration control and radar test event management. As well, participates in I&T readiness reviews, design reviews, and occasional presentations to the customer. Utilizes a broad knowledge of precedents in Systems/I&T engineering and applies understanding of principles of related engineering and hardware/software technology to ensure test validity and integrity while working across multiple programs.

What You Will Do:

  • Participate in integration and test planning, test preparation, execution, data analysis, developing detailed integration information sheets, and providing status updates and reach-back assistance to chief engineers, subject-matter-experts, program engineers/leads during regular and off-shift schedules
  • Support sell-off of advanced radar capabilities including hardware setups and software builds across multiple Strings and test activities at CONUS locations, including planning detailed technical approaches and executing verification/validation events associated with upcoming hardware deliveries and/or software releases
  • Ensure test and evaluation processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware, convey technical issues and provide status briefings to managers and key program stakeholders (including participating peer, gate, and test readiness reviews), and generate reports and presentations to internal or external stakeholders
  • Partner closely with the Integrated Product Team on defining test objectives and approach, coordinate the schedule, staff and prepare teams for live radar integration site test events, and define the priorities for the team
  • Install, configuring, operating and maintaining Radar Testbeds consisting of networked electronic hardware setups installed with existing or new software builds in a HWIL/SIL facility

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Linux, Unix, and/or other programming language
  • Experience with Systems Integration, test, hardware, and/or Verification
  • Active and transferable US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. US Citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with MATLAB, Linux Operating Systems, and Shell scripting for performing analysis, installing/debugging software, integrating and configuring electronics, COTS servers, and networking/troubleshooting electronic system connections
  • Knowledge with operations of software in HWIL/SIL facility
  • General understanding of Data Distribution Service (DDS), Quality of Service (QoS) and other basic networking principles
  • Certifications in CompTIA Network+ and or CompTIA Security+
  • Experience with creating plans/procedures, schedules, test scripts, maintaining audit records, and/or conducting performance analysis for verifying and validating radar performance, and working with customers to plan and execute program test activities
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, customer interaction skills, and willingness to perform tasks with various site facility leads, while communicating with remote stakeholders, or at a stakeholder site
  • Experience with developing radar analysis tools, hands-on root cause identification, corrective action implementation, analysis or test on radar systems, signal processing, and electro-optical systems or components and verification

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
