The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) is looking for an exceptional Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our department. We lead all aspects of Systems Engineering that facilitate the development of complex systems to support various Raytheon programs around the world. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world's toughest problems. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

This is an Onsite role in Huntsville, Alabama
What You will Do :
- Your will conduct analysis on electronic attack models and impacts on missile defense radar systems in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
- You will develop, maintain, and implement modeling and simulation (M&S) MATLAB electronic attack and electronic protection software
- You will analyze and conduct trade studies of electronic protection algorithms and concepts throughout the Missile Defense System
- You will coordinate analysis activities and products with company leaders and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks
- You will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the technical team and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives.
Qualifications You Must Have :
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and ten (10) years or more of documented Engineering work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
- Experience with MDA Element and System electronic attack and electronic protection algorithms and/or methods
- Experience with radar signal processing
- Experience programming in Matlab
- Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer :
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or Math
- Experience with sensor tracking algorithm development
- Experience with system tracking, correlation, and/or fusion domain
- Experience with Sensor-level (off-board and on-board) and/or System-level discrimination techniques
- Experience working with Radio Frequency Sensors, Electro-Optical / Infrared Sensors; other sensing modalities
- Analysis experience with Missile Defense Agency radar systems, including AN/TPY-2, SBX, LRDR, SPY-1, SPY-6, UEWRs, or Cobra Dane
- Experience with radar scheduling, tracking, and discrimination
- Analysis experience with C2BMC and/or weapon systems including THAAD, Aegis Weapon Systems, and Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems
- Team leadership experience
- Experience with version control software and/or object-oriented programming
- Experience working both independently and in a team environment
- Experience communicating and presenting program information internally and externally

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
