The Secure Mission Solutions team within the Command, Control, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, and Autonomy (C4I&A) Department in Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer. This Engineer will support the electronics packaging design and development of high- performance communication and mission processing products designed for use in various ground, airborne, and space applications.

What YOU Will Do:
- You will use and apply electrical engineering principles and techniques and lead design of electrical modules and/or circuit card assemblies (CCAs) through the entire development cycle
- You will lead electrical hardware development activities. Prepare and present project and/or technical information to peers, internal leaders, and customer leaders, such as technical documentation, specifications, and hardware design documents
- You will be responsible for managing project cost and schedule
- You will perform trade studies as needed and select design approaches/methods necessary to meet product requirements
- You will Identify and addresses project problems (Root Cause) and recommends resolutions (Corrective Actions) to ensure the successful completion of projects
- You will lead prototype build and verification and pre-qualification testing within a cross functional team
- You will work closely with a multidiscipline team to ensure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle, including supporting final product integration, testing, qualification of the final product, and transition to production

Qualifications YOU Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with schematic capture and printed wiring board layout for digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs
- Experience with MIL-STD-810 and/or DO-160 environmental requirements or equivalent
- Experience with electronic product packaging requirements
Qualifications WE Prefer:
- Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT)
- Design tools experience with requirements capture, schematic capture, signal integrity and timing analysis (ex. DxDesigner, DOORS, and Hyperlynx) with digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs for military applications
- Professional exposure to Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar cost and schedule tracking system.
- Familiarity with bid, proposal and earned value methods
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and managing hardware development tasks in JIRA, is a plus.
- Testing experience to MIL-STD-461(EMI) or equivalent

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
