The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:

The RTX Communications organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Affairs - ESG Communications position. This key role supports Communications for the People pillar of the company's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.

The Senior Manager will develop, execute, and manage initiatives that support the company's ESG strategy and promote an inclusive experience. This role will ensure the coordination of an integrated communications approach to diversity, equity and inclusion communications aligned to key focus areas - workforce, supplier, public policy and community engagement - across employee and executive communications, marketing, public relations, public affairs, social media, and editorial. The ideal candidate is a creative, driven, and enthusiastic communicator with exceptional program and relationship management skills. This individual must work well independently and as part of a larger team and have a track record of success influencing cross-functional teams and leaders across the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement communications strategies, key messaging, and content that support corporate citizenship priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic communications partner to the chief diversity officer and their leadership team.
  • Provide counsel to senior executives on internal communications strategies, shaping leadership messages that promote an inclusive workplace culture that contributes to business performance.
  • Partner across Communications COEs to ensure cohesive internal and external messaging and alignment to corporate initiatives.
  • Oversee communications campaigns that highlight employee resource groups (ERGs), conferences, and other signature events.
  • Collaborate with ESG communications team to ensure alignment between People pillar content and the annual ESG report, emphasizing how an inclusive culture supports the company's broader environmental, social, and governance efforts.
  • Travel up to 10%, or as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Prior experience developing purpose-driven, impactful communications that align with business strategies and deliver measurable results.
  • Prior experience working within a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment, with the ability to influence and manage relationships across business units, functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Previous experience in storytelling, writing, and editing skills, with a keen ability to translate complex initiatives into compelling narratives.
  • Previous experience with communications and marketing analysis, including the ability to use data for impact.

  • Location: Hybrid from Farmington, CT; hybrid employees work both onsite and offsite regularly. Remote work may be considered for internal employees that resides near an RTX Corporate or any RTX BU sites.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Over the course of the 14-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return-to-work experience. Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.

Minimum Program Qualifications

To qualify for the RTX Re-Empower Program, candidates should:

  • Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
  • Have prior experience in functional area of interest
  • Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time position

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
