Linux System Administrators, internally known as Principal Analyst, infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

This position is onsite in Dulles, VA.

What YOU will do:

  • You will administer Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security.
  • You will use and develop with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
  • You will install, administer, and troubleshoot recent versions of OpenShift
  • You will work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • You will develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND
  • Must have experience with Linux, hardware, troubleshooting, and scripting.
  • Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 10% travel.
  • Full time 100% Onsite position
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds for hardware installs.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience administering Windows based systems.
  • Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS and LDAP
  • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.
  • Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
