The Secure Processing Solutions (SPS) department is responsible for designing, testing, and certifying secure mission computers, cross-domain guards, and cryptographic products that enable our warfighters to achieve success in today's complex multi-domain battlespace. Our department works closely with portfolio teams to secure new business opportunities and develop solutions that meet our customers' challenging requirements. We achieve this through a rigorous development process, strategic product roadmapping, and embracing a spirit of collaboration to overcome challenges.

The SPS department is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Systems Engineering who has a passion for innovation and the drive to see new technology and capability matured into fielded solutions. This role will lead a team of systems and cyber security engineers developing next-generation cryptographic and cross-domain technologies, maturing designs and products from low Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) to program accreditation and production.

This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
What YOU will do:
- You will lead a team of Systems and Cyber engineers to develop solutions for both cryptographic solutions and cross domain guards
- You will be responsible for performance development and evaluation, salary planning, manpower planning, career coaching, and ensuring compliance with company policies
- You will help create a collaborative team culture that drives predictable program performance to consistently meet business and customer commitments
- You will communicate effectively to a host of stakeholders across the technical spectrum, including customers, program management and senior leadership
- You will grow overall team capability through mentoring, career development, role assignment, and hiring
- You will play a key leadership role in advancing Collins' CDS and Crypto product line, helping us maintain our status as a leading provider of these technologies. Your efforts will ensure we deliver top-tier solutions that meet our customers' most pressing needs for secure connectivity in the field
- You will learn how we help our armed services be more effective against near peer threats and will lead those developing the solutions that will streamline connectivity to enable our warfighters to maintain battlefield superiority
What YOU will learn:
- You will learn about Collins Aerospace's security-hardened products and how they facilitate collaboration among our armed forces, as well as with our allied partners, who use disparate networks and classification levels.
- You will gain experience with Raise the Bar or RTB requirements from the NCDSMO certifying authority (Which is the sector of the NSA that is responsible for certifying CDS technology)
- Leadership and Management: Enhance your leadership and project management skills, including hiring, performance evaluation, and personnel management, while overseeing project scope, schedule, and budget in a high-stakes / high-reward environment.
- You will have the chance to grow! CDS and Crypto technology is needed across DoD applications and platforms, presenting a significant opportunity in an emerging market. You will play a key leadership role in helping our company capture this market and establish our reputation as a top-tier supplier of this technology.
Qualifications YOU Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with the full systems development lifecycle, leading a team through requirements definition, architecture and design, discipline-level development and management, and performing subsystem and/or module-level integration and verification.
- Leadership and Team Management: ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and communication while eliminating chaos.
- Previous experience with bidding and bid review, planning and managing project budget, schedule, and scope.
- Familiarity with Cybersecurity principles and NSA Raise The Bar (RTB) requirements.
- Systems engineering experience executing development of security hardened systems/products within a classified development environment.
- Advanced digital engineering methodologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering, digital twin simulation/integration/testing, and automation of build delivery and testing processes to improve delivered system designs
- Experience developing in the Agile framework.
- Experience with SEER bid estimating methodology
- Preferred applicants will currently hold a Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years.
- Ability to work through tough situations in a healthy and collaborative way

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
