The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to be a Sr Engineering Manager leading a multidisciplinary team of approximately 15 engineers and technicians (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines) developing complex engineering solutions for Factory and Service Center support at the Wilson, North Carolina facility.
The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines, both domestic and international.

As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Sr Engineering Manager ensures they have a high-performing team in place to successfully develop test solutions from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support. Typical test solutions include Top Level, Temperature Testing, In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan, which may include commercial components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software.

This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers, operations leadership, Wilson site leadership, and program managers, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to an Associate Director of Engineering in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.

- Ensuring compliance to development processes and standard work requirements while tirelessly seeking continuous process improvement.
- Reviewing the teams engineering estimates and proposals, ensuring adherence to the test strategy and architecture as well as ability to perform.
- Identifying staff, partners, facilities, and equipment required for successful execution of cognizant projects.
- Overseeing the technical execution of numerous projects using performance metrics to drive decision making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
