We are seeking an Advanced Systems Engineer to join our Physical Sciences and Systems group in Middletown, RI. If you are someone who is energized by new technologies, technical leadership, and customer engagement BBN is the place for you. This is an onsite role at our Middletown, RI location.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop models and simulations using Matlab and Simulink
- Investigate methods to improve the performance of data handling and digital signal processing algorithms
- Develop models and scripts to automate routine operation and test functions and troubleshoot issues
- Produce technical reports and design documentation
- Collaborate with BBN team members and external customers to deliver practical solutions that demonstrate innovations of the future
- Candidates should expect that they may be required to travel to a BBN, RTX, teammate, or customer site for meetings or other business-related activities.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in related field and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Current Secret DoD security clearance
- Working knowledge of Matlab and Simulink
- Understanding of the fundamentals of control theory including multi-channel feedback loops, filtering, signal processing and simulation
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Proficiency with Product Data Management (PDM) and collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.

This is an on-site role, eligible candidates must reside or relocate within commuting distance of Middletown, RI. Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role:
Onsite: Employees who are working in onsite roles will work regularly onsite.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
