RTX has an opening for an SAP Development Lead (Associate Director, Business Systems and Transformation).
Are you interested in playing a key role in defining the future of Aerospace and Defense? If so, we are hiring an SAP Development Lead to help drive our oneRTX: Process & Systems Transformation.
The oneRTX Process & Systems Transformation program will harmonize key business processes, associated tools, metrics, and reporting across the company, enabling the migration of capabilities into standardized ERP systems. RTX has chosen SAP's S4 HANA to enable our future ERP system and has largely concluded the strategic definition and design phase and is now entering the initial blueprinting, build and support phases.
The SAP Development Lead is responsible for planning, assigning, and supervising the work of the SAP Development Team. This team will be design, program, code, test, and debug programs, function modules, and other development objects related to Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows(RICEFWs) for all functional workstreams within the transformation. The Development lead will ensure standards are followed through all phases of the program, with a keen eye for quality and adhering to the defined schedule.
You are the ideal candidate if you have experience working within an organization that is responsible for driving large scale, complex programs and projects related to business process and system transformation, ideally ERP implementation using SAP's S4 HANA solution.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Define, develop, and refine standards for programming within but not limited to: S4 HANA, Business Technology Platform (BTP), BW4HANA, SAP GRC, EWM
- Assign RICEFWs to ABAP development staff which will be a blended team of RTX, System Integrators, and SAP
- Review design and development work products for completeness, functionality, and adherence to defined program standards
- Collaborate with program management and SAP functional teams to ensure integration of business processes & procedures with developed work products
- Maintain effective working relationships between process owners, SAP Functional and Technical team members, and end users
- Resolve complex technical design and development issues in conjunction with Solution Architects, SAP, and system integrators
- Determine additional tools needed by development team to perform duties. Work with program management and partnerships to purchase, license, and deploy
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
Typically a minimum of 12+ years' experience in development within SAP ERP and a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years' related work experience.
- 10+ years' experience working knowledge of all business process areas within SAP ECC/S4
- 10+ years' in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP programming and the associated transactions and tools to support
- Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
- Experience working on large, complex A&D enterprise projects -- or similarly regulated, large organization
- Experience with agile frameworks/iterative approaches to software development and implementation projects
- Curiosity and Innovation: create a culture of innovation and strive to adopt solutions which allow RTX to grow and utilize new technologies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly adapting to changing business needs and priorities.
- Compliance Mindset: Familiarity with financial regulations, controls, and security measures. Experience implementing and maintaining compliance standards within an ERP system.
- Experience leading teams within large, complex A&D enterprise projects -- or similarly regulated large organization

- Ability to Travel 25-50%
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
