What You Will Do:
The Quality and Process Engineering (Q&PE) organization is looking for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) L3 Experts/Engineers who will work with internal P&W business units, suppliers, and partners to develop and continuously improve NDT systems. Specific NDT L3 proficiencies being considered are: Radiography (Digital, Conventional & NRay), Eddy Current, FPI, MPI, Etch. Candidates may travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
- Perform NDT audits for respective methods.
- Provide technical guidance, inspection system oversight and drive process improvements.
- Provide technical support for investigations.
- Provide NDT personnel development through mentorship.
- Provide technical support to PW NDT suppliers.
- Ability to review and approve NDT Technique Sheets as applicable.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience. All candidates with relevant equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum experience: 4 years as a certified NDT L2 inspector.
- Currently hold or able to obtain an NDT Level 3 in 2 or more NDT methods.
- Possession of objective evidence of formal training and On-job-training in NDT methods.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with internal & external auditing, training, testing and certifying NDT personnel, qualifying and certifying NDT systems.
- Experience that includes a background in fully automated inspection systems i.e. Robotic or Mechanical part specific programming for Digital X-ray and Eddy Current applications
- Familiarity with assisted defect recognition (ADR).
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.
- Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools.
- Experience with escape/latent defect management.
- Experience with technique review and approval.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite or similar platforms.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
