The Project Engineering Manager, Pneumatic Air Valves, will have responsibility to ensure the execution of all engineering activities including design, development, qualification, proposals, field support, cost reduction, and strategic long term technology advancement.

The Project Engineering Manager provides strategic direction and overall leadership for EACS and/or EC&A Pneumatic Air Valve programs. The Manager owns the cost and schedule of the product lifecycle, beginning with a vision for technology advancement, process discipline during design and development, and finally supporting manufacturing and the aftermarket.
The Air Valve Engineering Manager will directly manage approximately 3-5 associates, which will grow congruent with new business wins. As part of a matrix organization, this team will coordinate the execution of projects with the entire Value Stream working closely with Mechanical Design, Mechanical Systems, Chief's Office, and other functional managers.
This is a Value Stream and customer facing role that will need to succinctly communicate progress and act as the focal point for resolving critical Engineering issues with internal and external customers. Excels in a dynamic work environment, and capable of multi-tasking Possesses a "can do" attitude and be proactive.
The Manager is a champion for acquiring, retaining, and developing the best talent to ensure programs are properly staffed to succeed.
What You Will Do
- Propose, manage, and drive Engineering projects and initiatives to ensure successful completion within planned time and budget constraints while meeting customer expectations.
- Collaborate with functional managers and the entire Value Stream to develop and execute the tasks aligned with the required Engineering Standard Work activities.
- Collaborate with the Value Stream to provide design engineering technical support for both factory operations and field service teams.
- Communicate with internal and external customers including senior executive levels to provide engineering progress reports
- Develop long-term plans to improve engineering productivity via standardization, advanced methods, tools and processes and low-cost engineering sourcing.
- Develop engineering investment and technology strategy to support business capture strategy and growth.
- Champion a strong customer centric culture which empowers the team through trust.
- Leverage engineering talent to drive world-class delivery of engineering functions and services.
- Perform general management responsibilities including resource planning, mentoring and associate development.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- 5 years engineering leadership in a relevant project engineering function
- Experience meeting technical, schedule and cost milestones on complex development programs
- 5 years' experience managing direct reports
- Advanced degree in engineering
- Full lifecycle experience in aerospace project engineering management
- Engine control systems and components experience including system and component design & analysis
- Aerospace industry experience is preferred

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
