Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is seeking a goal oriented, detail-focused project engineer to support our F135 HPC Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Variable Vanes & Kinematics Integrated Product Team (IPT) .
What You Will Do
- The engineer in this position will provide project skills and management to an IPT made up of Project, Design, Structural, Aero, and Systems engineers supporting development, procurement, and First Engine to Test of Pratt and Whitney's F135 ECU High Compressor. The IPT's will ensure all program milestones are met for Detail Design, and First Engine to Test (FETT).
- The engineer will work with the IPT Lead to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets for specific IPT tasks. The engineer will be able to represent the IPT to internal and external customers when required.
- Coordinate with Integrated Product Team Leads to meet task and technical requirements and coordinate and lead supplier resources to meet hardware delivery requirements and technical milestones.
- Direct activities of Project, Design, and Structures Engineers within the IPT using Agile methodology as a Scrum Master as well as plan and manage budget and schedule in accordance with program negotiated deliverables.
- Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and Compression Systems Engineering management as well as perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
- Develop and deliver detailed presentations for product design reviews and develop schedules and milestones for funded tasks and mentor less experienced employees as well as develop and deliver detailed validation plan for all F135 HPC ECU parts.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering degree with 5+ years experience OR
- Master's in Engineering or MBA, with 3+ years' experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- MS in Engineering or MBA
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Prior demonstrated successful experience using Agile
- Prior team leadership experience or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to organize and execute several components of complex tasks.
- Trained CAM & Proficiency with Teamcenter, MS Project or other scheduling software and SAP a plus.
- The ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure that task requirements are met.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney. To help sure up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement. We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
