Role Summary
Project Engineers (PEs) provide engineering support to the Program(s), leveraging their knowledge of operations and their network of operations contacts, in order to facilitate alignment of needs and resources of both operations and the program office. PEs communicate between the Program engineers and the manufacturing engineers (MEs) when the program needs to make a change to the Technical Data Package, and operations will need to make a corresponding change to the Manufacturing Data Package, aligning effectivity constraints and timing. The PE also assists the POM in communicating CDRL requirements, program tasks and objectives, projects, etc. to the operations MEs; and provides input to the program office regarding operations capabilities and constraints. The PE also provides engineering/technical input to EACs, ERBs, CCB, etc.

What You Will Do:
- Communicate/align with Program Operations Manager on current program tasks
- Participate in design discussions to drive manufacturability and producibility
- Engage with factory MEs and technical experts to resolve technical issues
- Attend program ERB/CCB (where RRMIF is concerned)
- Coordinate program technical activities with factory support MEs
- Attend factory Tier 2 for each factory that interfaces with program
- Lead continuous improvement project management with RRMIF ME/PTE team
- Assist POM in development of Risks & Opportunities and drive to IPTs
- Initiate / Maintain MDP, communicate CDRL requirements
- Review EAC schedule for adequate schedule margin on tasks that affect Ops readiness
- Provide sufficient look-ahead to factory MEs for engineering changes & effectivity cut-in.
- Participate in All Hands Reviews (Mission Area, Factories, Functional)
- Develop / Maintain APQP elements (for example, PFMEA)
- Identify & Maintain Critical Manufacturing Processes
- Provide support surge capability to RRMIF Factory a/r (e.g. supplier rework/ weekend OT)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Current DoD security clearance (Secret)
- Experience with interpretation of technical documentation
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading teams or projects
- Experience with lean manufacturing
- Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques
- Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with technical writing
- Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
- Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming
- Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
