This position will provide professionals with opportunities to grow their skills in operations management, technical operations, business communications, and leadership.

The Program Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Program, Manufacturing Work Centers, and Functional Partners to ensure cost and schedule commitments can be met. Successful candidate will drive the overall management and participation in all phases of program development from capture and proposals thru development, execution, and close-out.

This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending time in and around factory areas. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in technical, program and manufacturing leadership roles.

What You Will Do:

  • Primary interface across all operation value streams, lead Operations role for implementing engineering change orders, presenting reports to the Customer and Directors representing his/her team and operations performance,
  • The overall management and coordination of recurring and non-recurring manufacturing resources to support program requirements, lead Operations through IPDS Gate processes.
  • Lead manufacturing advance planning to ensure paperwork, tooling, and processes are in place to meet build schedules
  • Manages program deliveries to cost and schedule
  • Act as internal consultant to the manager and develop short and long term strategies for the value stream
  • Help coordinate continuous improvement activities to improve support processes
  • Develops recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
  • Develop plans, schedules, and budgets for improvement projects

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience with SAP/PRISM/Kinaxis and/or CMES
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Understanding of manufacturing tool sets in how they integrate for delivery of product through DD250 or within a defense contracting organization.
  • Previous knowledge and experience managing support plans, completing basis of estimates (BOEs), and maintaining schedule in cross-functional, matrixed environment.
  • Experience as a people leader; encouraging and in support of performance management activities, goal setting, career counseling, compensation planning, and employee training and talent development while managing employee relation issues within varying levels of the Organization.
  • Previous leadership position in a fast paced technical or manufacturing environment that included multiple working organizations; this includes extensive experience building strong cross-functional teams with proven results.
  • Ability to lead collaboratively with other managers in a results-oriented environment to develop solutions for complex problems that will gain desired outcomes.
  • Problem solving abilities that bridge production realities to financial commitments.
  • Understanding of Lean Application/CORE/Six Sigma experience.
  • EVMS Certification or ability to learn.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
