The Program Chief Engineer for the ECS V2500 and GP7000 products, both Collins manufactured, and supplier designed, within the Partnership Commercial Engines, Pratt & Whitney programs, shall be the engineering lead for the PWES Value Stream IPT. This leader defines and maintains the Development Plan, directs technical system and product level field investigations, ensures technical goals are met on schedule and to cost, ensures lessons learned have been captured, serves as the primary technical customer contact and ensures overall product integration with the customer's system.

The Program Chief Engineer is responsible for the execution of the technical program requirements and supporting other program deliverables for all system(s) and subsystem(s) with the technical, schedule, and cost targets agreed to with the Partnership Value Stream IPT. This individual shall have the responsibility of guiding the program through all safety reviews and assessments, oversee field investigations as they relate to the products, and present data and issues to the customer as required.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the management, coordination and execution of the design and development activity, including testing and verification of the program in its entirety.
  • Responsible for the Program Development Plan and managing the program development within the approved budget and schedule allocation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Project Engineering teams supporting the Partnership Engine programs
  • Verify that the development activities done by the IPTs are executed in compliance with the Program Development Plan, all applicable Standard Work, and any additional applicable procedures.
  • Drive FAA Certification efforts on control system components ensuring support and alignment with the customer's schedule
  • Responsible for reviewing and managing various program activities such as risk management tracking and reporting, earned value performance, resource management, action item capture and closure and stakeholder meetings.
  • Communicate effectively to the Value Stream team, Senior Management, and the customer (Pratt & Whitney, IAE,& Engine Alliance)
  • Mentor and guide the less seasoned IPT members
  • Travel locally, approximately 20%, to supplier or customer sites

What You Will Learn

  • Effective customer and executive level communication during oversight of field investigation.
  • Deeper understanding of gearboxes, starters and pumps as they relate to the engine as a system.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Experience with gearbox and pumps

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
