This is a 2nd shift position.
What You Will Do:
- Required to plan and perform pre and post coating operations on production, overhaul or developmental parts. Assist others responsible for operating and maintaining coating equipment.
- Work from verbal, written and electronically generated instructions to set up, adjust and operate a wide variety of manually and numerically-controlled auxiliary equipment in support of coating operations, within assigned
- area. Assignments may include (but are not limited to) running manual and automated equipment, ovens and furnaces, media equipment cleaning operations and hole drilling equipment, where methods and processes are developed and closely controlled.
- Within the scope and skill level of this job description assist others responsible for new part process tryouts, run test pieces and re-operate rejected parts, following prescribed repair instructions. Check work both visually and
- with gages provided.
- Assist others responsible for the set up, operation, changeovers and maintenance on a variety of complex coating equipment. Perform masking and de-masking operations; assemble and remove parts into holding fixtures. Clean
- out coating chambers during changeovers; clean make minor repairs to fixturing, such as removing and replacing broken bolts or details.
- Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions (such as operator's checklist) for upkeep to assure equipment operates properly.
- Use a variety of mechanical and manual devices to control product and process configuration between operations.
- Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- 6 Months experience with metal finishing methods/machine shop/coating experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.

In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
