Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Safety professional to support our industrial hygiene and safety programs within the Environment, Health & Safety department at the Tucson, Arizona site.

Responsible for the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of hazardous conditions and environmental factors associated with the workplace that may cause impaired health or significant discomfort among workers.

Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects with solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organizational objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and improve EH&S programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company requirements.
  • Lead cross functional teams to develop control plans and implement proactive strategies to prevent injuries.
  • Conduct first aid and OSHA injury investigations and root cause analysis. Identify corrective actions and track to completion.
  • Identify, define, and resolve EH&S problems that are not immediately evident.
  • Develop and deliver training and presentations to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Support and implement site injury reduction goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for employee compliance questions/concerns and influence safe behaviors.
  • Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
  • Effectively organize, prioritize, and address multiple, simultaneous projects or tasks.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires Bachelor's STEM degree related to EH&S or advanced degree in related field.
  • 5 years direct experience in Industrial Hygiene or Safety field,
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Ability to obtain professional certification, either as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) within 2 years.
  • Flexibility to accept additional assignments within EH&S.
  • Ability to manage technical data accurately and efficiently.
  • Active Secret level or higher security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
