What You Would Do
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated Textiles Engineer to develop and mature weaving and braiding technology, including equipment and processes. This position is responsible for managing textiles process and equipment installation/modification, ensuring operator processing procedures are accurate and leading optimization efforts on new textile production lines by working with technicians, vendors, and Engineering. This job also requires taking an active role in improving process quality, implementing Quality (CORE) initiatives, and ensuring department safety metrics are met.
- Establishes and maintains technical expertise for textile processes and equipment.
- Propose and manage large projects (>$1M) at the moderate to complex level.
- Conduct trials to develop new and improve existing products.
- Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements.
- Actively monitor key process parameters and take appropriate action when required.
- Ensure documentation is clear and accurate (SOP's, work instructions, forms, etc.)
- Conduct on-the-job training as required for new and existing employees.
- Assist operators with equipment troubleshooting.
- Perform statistical analyses to identify process trends and take corrective actions.
- Maintain a high commitment to quality, thoroughness, and efficiency in all work aspects.
- Observe and follow all quality, environmental, health and safety procedures.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related STEM degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in Textiles, guiding processes and/or products from concept to full rate production.
- Project management experience.
- Experience developing and presenting technical presentations.
- US Citizenship
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related STEM degree with 5+ years' experience.
- Composites and/or Aerospace industry experience.
- Demonstrated capabilities in manufacturing process development for new products.
- Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to optimize manufacturing process parameters.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN, Risk tools, PFMEA and DFMEA.
- Knowledge and effective practice of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
- Knowledge and effective practice of aerospace quality practices like AS9100 and/or ISO9001.

What Is My Role Type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
