The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LADS) department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to help in the execution of requirements development, integration, and analysis activities in support of maintenance training products. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for helping to identify issues, generate solutions, and verify the solutions are implemented as designed. This role will require communication skills to convey solutions and results to teammates and managers.

This is an onsite role in Tewksbury, MA

Occasional travel may be required

What you will Do:

  • You will perform day-to-day high level individual contributor engineering tasks associated with the products we support
  • You will assist the team leader with developing and mentoring junior team members
  • You will lead projects and interact with engineering team members and the customer
  • You will provide technical oversight of employees, monitor program execution, and provide radar system subject matter expertise in direct support of program efforts and proposal activities.
  • You will assist with Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) training development and design for radar systems maintenance.
  • You will assist with Software requirements development, including decomposition and flow down.
  • You will have extensive interaction with other groups including Software, Integration, and Validation to develop and implement solutions.
  • You will analyze system performance vs. technical requirements, research and make SW/Systems improvement recommendations.
  • You will determine failure root cause and develop, design and implement solutions.
  • You will present findings and solutions to stakeholders.

Additional focus areas will include signal tracing and waveform design, virtual 3D modeling and tasking generation, understanding of radar systems components and design, integration and test of software simulations for large radar systems utilizing the Patriot Multi-Echelon Training (PMET) and related software suites.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of experience in the areas below. In absence of a degree, twelve (12) years of experience in the areas below are required;
    • Experience in design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures
    • Experience in Patriot operations and maintenance
    • Experience in training development for simulated hardware and software products
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or Math
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external customers
  • Experience writing reports and presenting information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems
  • Requirements development and design related to maintenance training, PMET, PMT, PSL and MPT products
  • Experience with serious gaming requirements, architecture design, and products including DOORS, 3dsMax, Unreal engine
  • Knowledge of systems software design, architectures, development life cycle and processes.
  • Experience with test equipment, and system signal tracing
  • Experience operating in an Agile/SCRUM, DevOps, and test environment
  • Current Top Secret US security clearance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
