Join Collins Aerospace as a Systems Dynamics Engineer. We're looking for a skilled professional, like you, with desire for delivering solutions, experience in Mechanical Design, Systems Design and Aero-Thermal-Fluids (ATF) Analysis. In this role you will support military and commercial programs for Engine Control Systems. You will be responsible for executing all System Dynamics Engineering related activities for the projects assigned to in alignment with the business's current procedures and practices. This will involve collaborating with industry and government customers in the development and integration of innovative technology and products for the next generation of advanced engine and aircraft systems. You will will also convert product requirements into total system solutions, lead trade studies, and implement common work practices.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do:

  • Evaluate external and internal customer needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Complete analysis at all levels of hydro mechanical fuel systems utilizing Matlab/Simulink and Dymola/Modelica to provide dynamic analysis at both the system and component level.
  • Utilize robust Mechanical Systems Engineering practices in support of projects assigned.
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability, and effectiveness analysis for system and components.
  • Engage in system level coordination of engine requirements and verification planning with multi-disciplinary teams within Collins Aerospace and with our customers.
  • Support requirements management and allocation.
  • Create architecture studies.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in control system design.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Dymola/Modelica, Doors.
  • Hardware Integration and Electrical Electronic experience.
  • Advanced understanding of hydro-mechanical systems.
  • Flight Controls Systems experience.
  • Mechanical systems experience in Thermal Modeling, Dynamic Modeling, Safety Analysis, and Verification and Validation.
