This is a key position that sets the foundation for the export and import of the company's products and technical information.
Global Trade (GT) requirements exist to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to economic sanctions and the export and import of products, services and technical data. The GT team is an integral part of the business to support them in delivering to our customers. We are currently looking for a GT Specialist to help us with that effort.

The Global Trade Principal Specialist is a Global Trade professional that has the ability to work autonomously with limited oversight on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. Sets objectives for own area of responsibility to meet the objectives or goals of projects and assignments. The GT Principal Specialist has advanced knowledge within a GT organization and works to achieve day-to-day objectives with major impact within GT. The Global Trade Principal Specialist influences, trains and guides others regarding policies, practices and can support moderate changes to procedures, and support in the development and management of a comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities. Supports business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications and technology release determinations. Supports the maintenance of applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Includes (non-engineering) technical experts who support law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions or complaints. Supports the establishments and maintenance of training and audit / assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
The preferred candidate will be located onsite/hybrid if within a commutable distance to one of our Collins Avionics locations; remote candidates will be considered.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze business needs with respect to Global Trade requirements and develop compliant solutions across all phases of the business lifecycle
- Serve as the Global Trade liaison to assigned business segment(s) Support the development and execution of business strategic initiatives
- Working under/within the following U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and HTS
- Supports all aspects of the Collins Global Trade Program (training, policies, processes, implementation, execution & metrics);
- Support the development of the Global Trade focal network
- Support licensing and authorizations activities for assigned business segments
- Support Regulatory Compliance investigations
- Support development and delivery of formal and informal Global Trade training and communications
- Review of Global Trade transactions under Collins policy and procedures
Qualifications You Must Have:
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience with practical knowledge of the U.S. GT regulations including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Prior experience with basic understanding of US. Customs regulations
- Prior experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (i.e., SAP, SAP/GTS)
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Aerospace technical experience
- Demonstrated practical knowledge with business process improvement and implementing change in a dynamic environment
- Has the ability to manage competing priorities, and meet multiple goals, plans and milestones and escalate when there are issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal/soft skills in a dynamic environment
- Basic project or program management experience
- Strong experience with software tools including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Practical experience with interpreting, managing, and implementing regulations, policies and procedures
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization preferred

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
