We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Lab Technician to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN creating the next generation of communications systems. As a Lab Technician, you will be integral in the assembly, testing, modification, and certification of electrical and RF systems and subsystems. Your expertise will help ensure that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will work closely with engineering teams to develop and refine prototypes, design test stations, and perform field installations, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical assemblies.
What you will do:
- Assemble, modify, test, certify, and rework electrical and RF systems/subsystems according to specifications.
- Design, develop, and assemble test stations and integrated test assemblies for both in-house and field use.
- Engineer and prototype new electrical systems; perform installations and field testing as required.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations to implement corrective actions for failing components and systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, program management, and other departments to ensure timely project completion and adherence to schedules.
- Support engineering teams in the development, testing, and validation of electrical systems and prototypes.
- Document test results, procedures, and performance data to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and RF systems and contribute to process improvements.
- Perform regular maintenance and calibration of test equipment and systems.
- Assist in creating test plans, reports, and specifications for internal and external use.
- Provide hands-on support for design reviews, production processes, and customer-facing technical issues.
- Assist in the development of training materials and provide technical support to junior team members or new hires.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Electrical Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and RF systems, components, and subsystems.
- Prototyping and Assembly: Experience with designing and assembling prototypes, electrical assemblies, and test equipment.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Proficient in testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing electrical and RF systems.
- Failure Analysis: Expertise in performing failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to create detailed technical reports, test plans, and other documentation.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and soldering equipment.
- Software Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., CAD tools, circuit design software, etc.) and data logging tools.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Active/Current security clearance
- Experience with RF testing and measurement equipment.
- Familiarity with various electrical standards and certifications.
- Hands-on experience in system integration and field installations.
- Experience in customer-facing roles and troubleshooting in the field.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
