We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts in the Advanced Air Warfare Systems (AAWS) portfolio within the Advanced Technology organization. This role will be part of a team of Contracts professionals supporting the Advanced Air Warfare Systems (AAWS) portfolio of programs. The selected individual will play a strategic role for several classified key pursuits, in addition to managing a variety of classified U.S. Government contracts. AAWS is a challenging, fast-paced environment, and this role must serve as a trusted business adviser to Program Leadership. Primary responsibilities will include supporting key pursuits, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, providing contractual guidance, developing Intellectual Property strategies and novel contracting approaches.

What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to manage successful execution of contracts
- Provide guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues, rights and obligations, and risk mitigation.
- Lead for the analysis of Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contracts execution, as well as general contract administration
- Perform as key contributor during the pre-proposal strategy, proposal development, negotiation, and start up phases of programs.
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams to construct, submit, and negotiate Terms and Conditions and pricing proposals, examine and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, engineering services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Effectively manage multiple contracts, contractual scope, and terms and conditions to ensure work is performed to the overall contract
- Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal partners
- Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise
- Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks
- Travel requirements are minimal
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
- Experience related to Contracts management, program management, business management or supply chain
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (Top Secret) is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals with knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Experience managing development contracts in a fast pace competitive environment
- Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and risk quantification
- Familiarity with Other Transaction Agreements, Intellectual Property, license agreements, or teaming agreements

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
