Raytheon is seeking a Principal Program Industrial Engineer to support program development and production phases primarily within the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for driving improvement with Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing Principles, and more. What You Will Do
This position involves providing industrial engineering support directly to the program(s) across Raytheon factories and key suppliers which may require occasional travel not to exceed more than 30% of a standard work schedule.
Responsibilities will focus primarily on discrete program requests for industrial engineering support working closely with Strategic Business Unit partners, industrial engineers embedded within the factories, various support organizations, and key suppliers to improve cost, quality, and schedule performance, identify strategic investment opportunities, and improve customer satisfaction. Specific tasks aligned with the industrial engineering discipline include the following:
- Create factory models using process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics
- Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to calculate capacity, eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
- Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities
- Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses
- Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline with 8 years of relevant work experience or 6 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a similar discipline
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required by day one U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance
Qualifications We Prefer

- Experience/Education with factory layout and work cell design/optimization
- Experience/Education with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods
- Experience/Education with project management
- Experience/Education with CAD software
- Six Sigma certifications

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
