The Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture (ISMA) directorate is composed of an energetic multi-disciplinary team of over 300 engineers working collaboratively with internal and external customers and programs to provide mission level modeling & simulation of sensing & effects capabilities from seabed to space, multi-level operation analysis, integrated system of system architectures and operations research. We are in the front end of the business pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity to establish next-generation mission solutions from system-level up to campaign-level.

What You Will Do
- As a Principal M&S Engineer, you will partner with our portfolio leads dedicated to delivering best-in-class Raytheon products for the warfighter through modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Your work will define how we show mission effectiveness of systems and system-of-systems operating in complex threat environments.
- You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring delivery of our mission simulations, virtual prototypes, and system emulators that represent a variety of mission technologies including sensors, effectors, communications, command and control, and more.
- This will include integrating live-virtual-constructive (LVC) simulations with other simulations, custom software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), government furnished models, hardware, and user interfaces.
- Working closely with our internal and external customers to understand requirements.
- Reviewing design plans for developing and delivering modeling and analysis needs.
- Reviewing analysis plans and ensuring plans align with customer objectives.
- Reviewing task breakdowns and schedules for completing modeling and analysis activities.
- Managing budgets for modeling and analysis activities.
- Reviewing presentation material for technical reviews.
- Reviewing analysis results and presenting to leadership and customers.
- Ensuring all work products satisfy customer requirements.
What You Will Learn
- In this organization you will be exposed to a variety of mission systems under the supervision and guidance of subject matter experts.
- You will learn how LVC concepts are applied across the Systems Engineering V-Model. You will also see how modeling and simulation is applied across the analysis pyramid to best inform our programs.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering work experience OR an advanced degree in STEM and 6 years of Engineering experience.
- Experience with compiled languages (e.g.: C/C++) or Object-oriented programming design using OOP / OOD.
- Experience using scripting languages (e.g.: Python or Perl) to automate tasks.
- Experience with computer network fundamentals, Experience working with Customer Requirements, Experience with technical writing and presenting technical information.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with configuration management tools (GIT, Subversion) and practices, Experience with IEEE 1278 DIS, IEEE 1516 HLA, and/or TENA.
- Experience with RADAR, Electro Optical (EO), and/or Infrared (IR) sensing systems, Comfortable working within an Agile Development Lifecycle.
- Experience in software or system modeling practices (e.g.: UML, SysML, DoDAF), Experienced with tools and methods for visualizing analysis results, Experience in 3-Dimensional geometry and modern imaging/visualization principles, including: Understanding of modern shader-based OpenGL pipeline.
- Experience with scientific computing software (e.g.: MATLAB) to evaluate analysis data. Integrating 3rd party software libraries and APIs into software tools, Socket Programming, OS Fundamentals (Shared Mem, Multi-Threaded, etc.)
- Experience developing software in Windows and Linux Environments, Experience with integrating distributed Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) simulation components. Experience with simulation tools and visualization environments, including: SIMDIS, AFSIM, Simulink, STK, MaK Image Generation systems. Experience with gaming engines or related technologies, including: Unreal / Unity / Creator / 3D Studio Max, 3D terrain and object modeling.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
