Job Summary:
Raytheon is seeking a talented and experienced Principal Linux System Administrator to join our team in a classified environment. As a System administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. You will work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems. Many programs employ Agile methodology in managing work. This position is an onsite role.
What You Will Do:
- Administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security
- Hardware and software troubleshooting
- Scripting, particularly in Bash and Python
- Using and developing with automation tools/frameworks such as Kickstart and Ansible
- Installing, administering and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
- Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support
- Must be able to lift to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations
- UP to 5% travel
- 100% onsite
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI security clearance with CI polygraph is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.
- Must have Redhat Linux experience
- Must have VMware experience

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience administering Windows based systems
- Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
- Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
- Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
