  • AS9100, Nadcap, Customer and Regulatory audits and accreditation
  • Product Last/First Article Inspection
  • New/repeat product requirement flow down (PPAP, Control Plans. PFMEA, Special Processes, NDT, etc.)
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Management
  • Helps resolve customer complaints and escapes
  • Quality Clinic and Material Review Board

What You Will Do

  • Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in-process and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements.
  • Uses a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, and statistical control processes.
  • Performs in-process, final bench and product feature inspections. Inspects actual products on the floor and on-line.
  • Performs First Article Inspections (FAI) and conformity inspections.
  • Raises notifications of non-conformance, quarantines non-conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides disposition.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and reports on special process-related activities to assure engineering requirements are met for special processes.
  • Includes reporting on raw materials quality, special process service providers' performance and laboratory testing.
  • Performs laboratory inspection for materials and special process testing.
  • Scope of work may include but is not limited to strength testing, thermal testing, non-destructive testing, chemical management, pyrometry and metallurgic testing.
  • Performs inspections and conducts special process assessments or audits.
  • Types of special process specifications include but are not limited to NDT, heat treat, welding, brazing, plating, and chemical processing.
  • Manages NADCAP accreditations. Performs a variety of activities relating to the testing performed by other quality functions.
  • Oversees metrology and calibration of instruments.
  • Performs functional testing of products to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, and chemical performance.
  • Oversight and inspection of parts, materials and processes.
  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.
  • Works with designs and specifications, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product.
  • Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
  • Ensures that projects and process control documents are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  • Identifies and manages risk in product development (primarily utilizing and driving Production Part Approval Process (PAPP) core elements e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).
  • Develops and implements proactive quality strategies.
  • Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action(s).
  • Ensures all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management (e.g. Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance).
  • Designs and implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Basic mechanical inspection using calipers, micrometers, pin gages, and micro height.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor Certified
  • Aluminum Brazing and/or CNC Machining
  • Nadcap (HT, MTL)
  • AS9145
  • PPAP (PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Aerospace and Defense specifications
  • CMM's
  • Net Inspect/Discus

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
