Our Network and Cyber Technologies group anticipates the future in very large- and very small-scale information exchange across wired and wireless environments, spanning multiple domains including space, air, surface, and undersea.
BBN seeks well-qualified and eager Researchers and Software Engineers to become an integral part of this work. You will contribute to such diverse and critical areas as network infrastructure security, network understanding, energy conservation, content networking, mobile networking, efficient channel access, and networking within extremely harsh or hostile environments. You will employ strategies for both free-form thinking and disciplined application. You will work with extraordinarily talented scientists and engineers.

What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop high performance networking software in a Linux environment with a modern DevSecOps pipeline.
- Advance networking-related research areas for BBN, having measurable impact on the business.
- Participate in cross-functional teams performing business development, proposal preparation, and execution.
- Position may require some amount of overnight travel.
Qualifications You Must Have
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field plus 5 years of related experience, or MS plus 3 years, or PhD.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and principles.
- Experience in disciplined C++, Java, and Python code development.
- Experience working with modern software development tools and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Writing and reviewing code to specifications/requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer - Familiar with all, Expert in some
- Experience with socket programming, including non-blocking designs.
- Experience with distributed information management.
- Experience working on hardened code.
- Ability to work and communicate as part of a team.
- Experience working in an agile team.
- Experience with Docker.
- Desire to continually learn and improve yourself.
- Ability and willingness to get a US Department of Defense security clearance

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
