Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity exists for a Module Development Senior Section Lead to manage our Module Design/Development Section within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

The Engineering Section Lead in this role will be responsible for managing an interdisciplinary group of electrical and mechanical engineers who design and test modules containing GaAs- and GaN-based monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) products. This would be in active support of existing technologies in production as well as next generation products in development.
What You Will Do:
- Work with the department manager on manpower and resource planning, controlling overhead costs, developing and delivering employee performance reviews, and developing/reviewing proposals
- Review and oversee project schedules and costs
- Support the needs of up to 20 employees who will depend on the section lead to help guide their careers and maximize their potential and effectiveness
- Support management at the department, directorate, and functional leadership levels
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field and a minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience in Microwave/RF module, subsystem and component analysis, design and test
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- A Master's degree or PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field
- Experience leading technical teams in RF/microwave modules, systems, antennas, and/or Radar developments.
- Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level
- Experience in cost estimating, budget and schedule management
- Experience in a production environment
- Experience with GaAs and/or GaN MMIC devices
- Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
- Experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
- Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab and AutoCAD
- Previous experience with a defense contractor and/or government agency.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Current DoD Secret level security clearance

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
