Pratt & Whitney, a worldwide leader in jet engines, is looking for a dedicated individual for Digital Tools Roadmap development and progression as we transform into a Model Based Enterprise industry leader. This role reports to the Program Manager, Model Based Digital Thread, and is a part of the Manufacturing Engineering function within Pratt & Whitney's Operational Excellence organization. Model Based - Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection (MD-DMI) is one Pratt & Whitney's Model Based Enterprise (MBE) pillar projects focused on the advancement of digital tools to create a collaborative model-based process design ecosystem to enable improvements in process development speed and effectiveness.
What You Will Do:
In this role, you will have responsibility to drive implementation of Model Based Manufacturing and Inspection across Pratt & Whitney's internal and external operations. Model Based-Design Manufacturing & Inspection (MB-DMI) is a company-wide initiative to augment 3D models with formats that enable automated consumption in manufacturing business processes such as: NC programming, Tool Design, Work Instruction authoring, Inspection Programming, First Article Inspection, Process Capability Analysis monitoring & reporting, Physics based modeling, Material Review Board (MRB) for discrepant material. This effort is focused on creating the digital thread that supports efficient automated re-use of data across all these processes for internal and external producers.
- Support definition and implement of Model Based - Design, Manufacturing & Inspection (MB-DMI) transformational project as it relates to interoperability, assess impact of digital thread into manufacturing, drive identification and closure of risk mitigation steps where maturity gaps are identified.
- Generate and execute short to medium range MB-DMI plans providing significant impact to the organizations
- Develop metrics to monitor and report on health of transformation progress at all levels of the process
- Define and implement MB-Quality data tools digital thread strategy between Engineering, Internal Operations, Supply chain, Quality, and the Digital Technologies organizations.
- Ensure Model Based Definition data elements (geometry, annotations, attributes, product characteristics, presentation states) are created with human and machine-readable compliance and digitally consumed and for data collection.
- Drive MB-Quality team for optimal application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) digital approach for producibility, and inspection for Quality.
- Assess impact of digital thread into Quality, drive identification and closure of risk mitigation steps where maturity gaps are identified.
- Create and execute short to medium term MB-DMI project plans providing significant impact to the organizations.
- Develop a strategy to execute to program milestones consistent with the MB-Quality Strategy.
- Generate and execute day to day MB-Quality objectives providing significant impact to the organizations.
- Assure collaboration and alignment across disciplines and functional organizations to ensure technical development of Digital Thread connectivity.
- Support providing technical solutions for Engineering Design, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing to align with the MB-Quality Vision and Strategy.
- Communicate and influence difficult and unique objectives within and outside of the organization, and various levels of management, including executive level.
- Ability to define, generate and document MB-Quality requirements.
- Provide Standard work for training and support for various cross functional teams.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years experience (Manufacturing Engineering, Ops, Engineering Design, Supply Chain, Project Mgmt, Quality or equivalent), or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Hold a current U.S government issued Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret Clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- 10+ years in CAI CAD and/or CMM software packages.
- CMM programming experience, PLM, NX, Team Center, and related systems.
- Proficiency in various Model Based Definition formats such as Step 242, QIF, JT
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Technical proficiency in Complex Manufacturing activities.
- Excellent priority management skills.
- Excellent multitasking skills.
- Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
