Job Summary:
- Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. - We have an opportunity for a Metallurgical Process Control Technician to be based in Columbus, GA.
- This is a 1st shift opportunity.
- Must have experience/degree in Electronics, Electrical, and or Maintenance (that order of preference)
Key Responsibilities:
- The Metallurgical Process Control Technician objective is to perform temperature uniformity surveys on thermal processing furnaces within the Columbus Forge manufacturing facility.
- Responsible for calibration and maintenance of electronic measurement and test equipment (MT&E); including temperature controllers, temperature indicators, and temperature recorders.
- Serve as an issue resolution focal point that works with engineering, customer service support, and operations to drive continuous improvement in products and processes.
- Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities.
- Participate on cross functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership, with coaching and assistance by the Material Control Laboratory Manager.
- Must be willing to work any shift, including an alternate work week. Overtime may be required.
- Be able to work in a team environment and handle multi-tasking duties.
- Required to successfully pass annual vision screening.
- Knowledge of SAP, Solumina, and MRP will be a necessity.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- 2 years of Electronics experience or degree
- 2 years of Maintenance/ Electrical experience or degree
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills. Results focused work ethic to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Be able to follow written/verbal procedures and instructions.
- Possess good organizational skills. Follow all EH&S rules and guidelines.
Support continuous improvement. Possess good people and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five to six years' experience in manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
