We have an opportunity for a skilled brazer to help shape the future of our production workforce as a Mechanical Assembler II - Braze Trainer 2nd Shift.

You should be an expert in Oxygen/Acetylene brazing and have outstanding communication and facilitation skills to impart your knowledge to trainees.

This is a 2nd shift position (Monday - Thurs, 3:00pm-1:30am) however you must be available to work first shift (Mon-Fri 6:30AM-3PM) for the first 9-12 months.

What You Will Do:

  • Become a subject matter expert on the brazing done at the Collins Aerospace Burnsville facility.


  • Deliver classroom instruction, evaluate, and advise students in Brazing and other training center classes.


  • Develop and/or revise brazing and safety curriculum.


  • Develop and/or revise other training center content as needed.


  • Continually develop technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.


  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions


  • Operate brazing torch, hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.


  • Perform quality work checks, identifies product defects, and records identified defects.


  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.


  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures setting the example for trainees of uncompromising quality and safety.


  • Overtime available on a business need basis.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically a HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.


  • 1+ years of experience brazing.


  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds


  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Occupational experience four full-time years of experience in brazing.


  • Occupational experience teaching brazing or welding.


  • Proficiency reading Blueprints.


  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of operators, engineers and technicians.


  • Proven ability to facilitate difficult conversations and communicate early, and concisely with individuals at all organizational levels to mitigate risk and resolve challenges.

The salary range for this role is $38,841 - $72,849. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
