The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services Team:
RTX has an opening for an MDM Technical Specialist (Sr. Manager, Data Science and Analytics) position.
The MDM Technical Specialist will be responsible for architecting, designing, and building robust solutions for active and passive data governance of material master data. This role will involve leveraging technologies such as SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), Informatica, PowerBI, and others, with a deep understanding of SAP Material Master data structures.
As an SME in software development and engineering practices, the Material Master Technical Specialist will take functional specifications, translate them into technical requirements, and lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of solutions. This role will also work closely with business users and lead a team of developers to ensure successful project delivery.
What You Will Do:
Solution Design & Development:
- Design end-to-end solutions for material master data governance using SAP MDG, Informatica, PowerBI, and other relevant tools.
- Convert functional specifications into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs and system capabilities.
- Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from solution architecture to development, testing, and deployment.
- Material Master Expertise:
- Act as the SME for SAP Material Master data structures, ensuring that solutions are aligned with best practices and technical standards.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of material master data processes, focusing on data governance, integration, and quality management.
Active & Passive Data Governance:
- Design solutions for active (real-time validation) and passive (post-processing quality checks) governance, ensuring data quality and compliance.
- Lead the design and implementation of validation and governance rules within SAP MDG, ensuring consistency across material master data.
Data Migration & Integration:
- Work closely with technical teams to integrate material master data governance solutions into other enterprise systems and ensure seamless data flow.
- Oversee data migration strategies, ensuring the material master data is clean, accurate, and ready for migration into SAP S/4HANA and other platforms.
Development Leadership:
- Ensure technical solutions are delivered on time and meet the quality standards set by the business.
- Provide technical leadership in solution design, coding standards, and development best practices.
- Oversee code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality delivery of software solutions.
Collaboration with Power Users:
- Engage with business power users to understand their data governance needs, provide technical expertise, and ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of material master data governance solutions.
Data Quality Management & Reporting:
- Implement data quality management processes to continuously monitor and improve the accuracy of material master data.
- Leverage tools like PowerBI to build dashboards, reports, and analytics that provide visibility into material master data quality and governance metrics.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically a minimum of 10+ years' experience in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) arena and a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or related fields or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 7+ years'
- 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or software development, with a focus on material master data in an enterprise environment and related SAP technologies
- Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Deep knowledge of SAP Material Master data structures and best practices.
- Proven experience in software development and engineering practices, including SDLC, solution architecture, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Experience leading and managing development teams in delivering complex solutions.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and integration tools such as Informatica and reporting platforms like PowerBI.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with SAP MDG and Syniti Development & Deployment

This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
